PRAYER REWIND NO.6
Hey, y'all! Welcome to another week of the Prayer Rewind! By the way, I am OBSESSED with the banner for this one (to the left)! In case you all didn't know, I use Canva to create my banners for the Prayer Rewinds and for many other things, such as the five posts in the Christmas series. But, enough about that! Let's get started:
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope (Psalm 130:5).
Hope. It's such a beautiful and meaningful word. But what does it mean? Hope is expectation, desire, and trust wrapped up into one. It's the expectation/desire for something to happen and the trust that goes into waiting for that thing to happen. As humans, we often place our hopes on false things. We don't even turn to God, but here's the thing: God is our ONLY hope. Nothing that we get comes from luck or chance; it's all God. We need to trust Him with our whole hearts and place our hopes on Him and only Him. Here's a prayer from Prayers with Purpose for Women by Jackie M. Johnson:
Lord, so many times I am tempted to think that people or things will satisfy me. But often they leave me empty and unfulfilled. Help me to remember that You are the source of my hope-not a man or a better job or a pan of brownies. Those are all good things, but they will never fully satisfy me like You do. Forgive me for misplaced hope. Help me to put my trust in You and Your secure, steady, and unfailing love. [In Jesus' name. Amen.]
Have a wonderful week!
